Every year since 1991 the City of Wells and the Isle of Wedmore have played for a Friendship Cup to cement a bond between the two bowls clubs. This year it was played at Wedmore and the victors were Wells by just 4 shots. Over the lifetime of this annual competition Wedmore have won 18 times and Wells now 10 times.
