The men played a Friendly against the County under 25s when it was one rink each but 40 shots to 30 overall to Wedmore. Keith Burt’s men trailed over the first half but took the lead on end 12 and by dint of scoring ten on the last two ends, won 23-11. Wederall’s side went behind on end six and the deficit grew to nine shots at end 16 but the damage was limited to two shots by scoring seven on the last two ends.
A Mixed Friendly at home to Avon and Somerset Police saw the home club win by 48 shots to 32 with rinks one each. Peter Smith’s team won 15 of the 21 ends, racking up 30 shots to 13. Julie Masters and support led most of the game but dried up over five ends allowing the Police to sneak in for a one shot victory.
An away Mixed Friendly to North Petherton was one to forget, losing on both rinks and by 20 to 56 shots overall, with skippers Brian Aston and Julie Masters unable to stem the tide.
