The men’s outdoor season took a more serious turn this week with two Over 60″s triples matches.
The first, played away against Clarence Blues was lost by 75 shots to 103 with just two rinks won for Wedmore. Both Dave Collins and Ray Newell and their teams won by just one shot 14 to 13. The second over 60’s match was at home against St. Andrews, both teams winning three rinks but Wedmore losing overall by 83 shots to 98. Keith Burt and his team has a good win 28 to 9. There were two mixed friendly matches this week:
The first was played away at Street with Wedmore losing by 56 shots to 94. John Runciman and his team had the only success winning their rink by just one shot 13 to 12.
The second friendly was at home against North Petherton and Wedmore continued their losing streak with a 58/84 final score. Only Keith Burt and his team came close to a win drawing 18 all.
Wedmore hosted touring side Chasewater and , after an afternoon of high scores drew 129 shots each! Mike Grosvenor and his team had a great win 31/12!
